Krav Maga: A Complete Self-Defense System
"Defend yourself, no matter the situation."
What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga Self-Defense
No, Krav Maga is not martial art. It is the only technique recognized worldwide as the art of self-defense.
The starting point is defense, there are no rules or competitions, it is not a sports modality, it does not use choreographic movements, not even beautiful.
The word “Krav” in Hebrew means combat, fight. “Maga” means contact. Krav Maga is very practical. It’s all about striking weak spots of the body: eye gouging, punching the nose, going for the chin, the throat, kicking the groin, all these weak spots. The objective is to neutralize the threat as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The relationship between Krav Maga and the elite units of the Israeli army is strong, as Krav Maga was originally developed by Imi Lichtenfeld, a former member of the Israeli military. It is widely used by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and is taught to soldiers in various units, including special forces and counter-terrorism units. Many of the techniques and principles of Krav Maga have been adapted for use in military and law enforcement training, making it a highly effective and practical form of self-defense.
That's the goal.
That's what Krav Maga is.
